And to add to distractions, COMICS FROM AMAZON AND KICKSTARTER OMG GARGLEBLARGFARTLGL Last volume of Grant Morrison’s Doom Patrol run, second volume of Morrison’s Animal Man run, Habibi on the recommendation of my best art buddy, Hing, and the Kickstarter print of Barbara by Osamu Tezuka from Digital Manga. Woof. Lotta reading to do. Lotta friends to ignore. IIIIIT’S THURGOOD THURSDAY!!!! Oh snappers, the army? Things aren’t looking too good for Thurgood and pals! Baltimore today for Insubordination Fest! Heard it’s going to hit 106 degrees in the Stabby City. I am planning on losing every last drop of fluid in my body today. Who’d have thought today would be my last day on Earth? Mom finally got around to switching on the AC, but it’s barely noticeable. I think she has it set to “smidgen.”

Check it out, guys! An actual joke in the last panel! Whoo! I did it! Me! Just got a huge package from Amazon containing many, many comic goodies. Five books, actually, and I’ve already burned through four of them, including new Jim Henson book, Tale of Sand, drawn by the amazing Ramon K Perez, who also draws KUKUBURI. And he is the perfect choice for Tale of Sand, seeing as how the story reads like some crazy dream. I also accidentally bought the Dororo Omnibus thinking it was just a reissue of volume one but no it’s the whole damn story in one huge-ass tome that will surely take me two days and many gallons of lemonade to finish. Can’t wait to dig in, though. EXCITED

IIIIIIIT’S THURGOOD THURSDAY! Thurgood’s mom, fyi. Jeez, sometimes when I’m drawing Doug, he looks more like a broken slab of concrete than some weird, floating pyramid thing. Actually, I’m pretty proud of the expression here, considering I’m working with one eyebrow and one eye. I guess it makes sense, if you’re coming from a western-reading world (left to right).

Spring has got to be the most depressing season. May Disease, right? No holidays, daunting tests, graduation, and trying to get a career. And now each of my friends seems to be dealing with some family problem or relationship drama backdraft and I’m just standing back and watching, as usual. A regular Uatu, me.
